Banks: can't live with 'em...
Just watched a story on the news discussing the effect the shitty economy has on small businesses. Essentially, bankruptcies went up about 80%, everyone’s girding their loins.
One aspect from the story troubled me further: 22 banks, which received over 11 billion in bailout funds, were not loaning money to small businesses, saying they were too risky. Let’s break this down:

Queta was watching the last third of this movie on Cinemax earlier tonight. I love it, but goddamn, my spine kinks up and my heart goes into my throat from the stark brutality. Time Warner has been on a tear lately in regards to adding to its roster of HD channels. Only about a month ago, we got MSNBC, AMC, TCM, and more in HD. Now, filpping through earlier tonight, I’ve learned we now have Vh1, MTV, and Comedy Central in HD as well.

The literal simile
A new grammatical idea I just made up.
It’s a simile, but the comparison phrase is just a rephrasing of the original idea. Example:
You shot me! My chest feels like it was pierced by a bullet!

Julie & Julia
Pretty good. Nothing earth-shattering, but good. Streep continues her Ken Jennings-like streak of incredibleness. Amy Adams is alright.
I agree with most critics, though not to the degree some of them feel it: They could have cut the Powell plot out and just made it a Julia Child biopic. No slight on Adams, and I don’t outright hate the modern parts of the film, but you kinda wanted them to...

So, short answer: the interview didn’t go well. I don’t think I jelled with the interviewee, and the office frightened me.
But, what irks me are the banal questions that come up during the process; not just in this interview, but in others as well. Some are so cliched, I wonder why anyone uses them anymore.
